By Kikonyogo Ngatya CRANIMER Kalinda, the Kampala Resident District Commissioner, has threatened to close down unlicensed gyms in the city. "We are receiving a lot of public outcry that the gyms train bouncers who molest people on the streets especially at night," he said. Kalinda was on Tuesday opening a three-day workshop for parish civic leaders in Kampala's Central Division at Cineplex Cinema Hall. The workshop is intended to introduce the leaders to the concepts of peace and harmony so that they can pass it on to residents. It was organised by ABETO, a local NGO that seeks to promote peace and tolerance in the country. Moses Musana, the ABETO chairman, said there was need to promote peace and harmony in society for good co-existence. He attributed the civil strife in some parts of the country to lack of torelance. ABETO works with private and government institutions. It has developed a peace and tolerance curriculum for the education system at all levels. Ends
