SIR-I am responding to your columnist Opiyo Oloya's Letter from Toronto, "Ssenyonjo may yet have the last laugh", in your May 23 edition. Oloya's article should at least be a reminder to our government, too. Much as it tries to ignore homosexuals, this is the right time to review its position about us. Laws can be reviewed; but arresting or criminalising us because we are gay and lesbian is not a solution. We are also normal human beings who pay taxes and hold responsibilities in different sectors. We also contribute to the development of our country. We need our freedom and the right to be free. The movement government has done a lot and deserves credit. But it should also look into this matter so that equality and justice is ensured. Oloya said: "While there might not be a single gay person walking on Kampala streets..." This is to inform him that we are there in numbers. Sebudde Lule Chairman Gay and Lesbian Alliance (GALA) gala4ug@yahoo.com P.O. Box 23717, Kampala
