Bullets rock Kabale district

By Hannington Mbabazi GUNSHOTS rocked Muhanga trading centre in Rukiga, Kabale district on Saturday night after a parliamentary candidate's rally in the area. The rally was addressed by Jack Sabiiti at Kyerero where supporters of Rukiga county MP Manzi Tumubweine allegedly attempted to disrupt the meeting but were later chased away. According to Kabale police, the cause of the gunshots has not yet been established but resulted from the rally in the area. Tumubweine's supporter, Edison Musinguzi, told The New Vision that unknown people had shot at his house and that his family had survived death. Meanwhile, Sabiiti has appealed to the district returning officer, Sam Basulwa, to tell Tumubweine to stop disrupting his (Sabiiti's) meetings. Ends
