The Kampala City Court on Tuesday issued criminal summons for Lt. Col. Alex Olega, a UPDF officer attached to the 409 Brigade based in Arua, and his three escorts to answer charges of abuse of office and assaulting a Police officer.

Alex Olega, a UPDF officer attached to the 409 Brigade based in Arua, and his three escorts to answer charges of abuse of office and assaulting a Police officer. The joint file was called for plea but the accused did not appear and were reportedly not in police custody. Olega, a resident of Bwebale road, Mpererwe in Kampala allegedly failed to restrain his escorts from torturing Samuel Bukenya who is attached to kanyanya police post. Private Ahmed Rasuru is separately charged with attempting to murder Emmanuel Sanyu who was witnessing the scuffle. Private Tomasi Adule and private Moses Atiku are charged with causing grevious harm to Bukenya and Haruna Lwasa, a student of Intensive High School. Ends
