By Frank Sserwaniko THE United States Trade and Development Agency (TDA) has given a grant of US$258,000 (about sh452m) to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to fund a feasibility study for the proposed development plan for Entebbe International Airport. Yesterday, TDA signed an agreement with CAA at the US Embassy at Nsambya near Kampala. The US deputy head of mission, Don Teitelbaum, signed on behalf of TDA while the CAA managing director, Ambrose Akandonda, represented Civil Aviation Authority. The study will be carried out by LPA Group, a US-based consultancy firm on airport development. Teitelbaum said the study will involve reviewing existing data and facilities, forecasting the demand for passengers and cargo and analysing capacity and facility requirements. "It will also include determination of the environmental impact and preferred land use as well as study of the capital costs and investment requirements," he added. Ends
