By Florence Nakaayi THE Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Mrs. Miria Matembe, has urged women to influence government policies by participating in power, leadership and in decision-making positions. She said this was one of the ways through which they would acquire their needs. Matembe was on Saturday addressing women delegates of the Women Intercultural Network (WIN) from California USA, and other women groups from the Coalition for Political Accountability to Women at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel. During their two-week stay in Uganda, WIN will share ideas on the problems women face and their views when making decisions. "I'm happy that the percentage of women in Parliament has increased from 18%-24%. This will help us to reinforce women issues which were not achieved in the last sixth Parliament," Matembe said. The President of the WIN, Ms. Marilyn Fowler said, "There is a need to ensure that the voices of all women and girls are heard." Ends
