Luweero Needs Sh5b

KAMPALA — The Government needs about sh5.5b to compensate 797 Luweero war victims whose claims have been verified by the minister of state in-charge of Luweero Triangle. Ruth Nankabirwa, the outgoing minister of state for Luweero Triangle, said 138 claims were paid during her term of office to the tune of about sh91,467,350. Nankabirwa, who is now the state minister for Defence, said the total cost for compensating the 797 claims amounts to sh5,551,828,980 in addition to 32 vehicles which have not yet been valued. Ends
