KAMPALA — The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has instructed Makerere University administration to start taxing all taxable items and activities at the institution. University secretary Sam Byanagwa said yesterday in a circular to all university staff members that the practice would take immediate effect. He said the university staff houses, part time lecturers, transport allowances, safari day allowances, teaching allowances, sitting allowances and carrying of extra loads to the university would be taxed.
