Traffic police should clamp down on taxis, boda bodas

SIR—Traffic police should be very strict with rogue drivers.

SIR—Traffic police should be very strict with rogue drivers. There is a nasty habit of people driving commuter taxis in turns. Sometimes one sits behind the wheel and keeps revving the engine until the taxi is full and then he jumps out and somebody else takes over. The passengers therefore cannot know who the real driver is. This is a common habit wherever one goes. I request the police to intervene and work hand in hand with UTODA to force drivers and conductors to wear uniforms. While we are still on the subject, boda boda men and people with bicycles should be penalised for driving through red lights. What is annoying that they can do this kind of thing with impunity even in the presence of a traffic policeman. What if they got killed? And who should obey the red lights? Isaiah Kakonge Kampala
