By James Oweka THE Acholi parliamentary group (APG) has requested to meet President Yoweri Museveni to discuss possible dismantling of displaced people’s camps in the region, the APG chairman, Nobert Mao, has said. “We plan a face to face meeting with the President over the dismantling of the camps. We shall also launch a campaign in parliament and with the international community on the issue,” Mao told The New Vision at Parliament House on Wednesday. Mao, also Gulu Municipality Member of Parliament, said the APG had recently elected its executive and their immediate task will include advocating for humanitarian intervention for the poverty stricken population. On peace, Mao said they would move a motion in Parliament urging the President to appoint a Presidential Peace Envoy who will communicate authoritatively with armed dissidents.
