By Daniel Saire MEMBERS of Parliament on the Social Services Sectoral committee have expressed concern over government’s under-funding of sports. The MPs while meeting ministry of Education and Sports officials at Collin hotel Mukono on Friday, also expressed concern at the continued lack of a vote for the Sports state minister. Education minister Kidhu Makubuya said cabinet was yet to pass a policy for the sports department. “It is impossible to create a vote for sports without a policy from cabinet,” he said. The chairperson of the committee Dorothy Hyuha, said that these were some of the causes for the deteriorating sports in the country. Hyuha told Makubuya to consider such issues when he meets the committee next week to present the ministry policy statement. MPs also queried NCS on steps taken to end wrangles in the various sports associations.
