Terror Suspect Remanded

A MAN who was last week arrested with 890 bullets was yesterday charged and remanded in Luzira Prison on charges of terrorism and unlawful possession of ammunition.

By Hillary Kiirya A MAN who was last week arrested with 890 bullets was yesterday charged and remanded in Luzira Prison on charges of terrorism and unlawful possession of ammunition. Moses Mudoko, 23, of Bulambuli county in Sironko district, appeared before a Buganda Road Court magistrate, Vincent Emmy Mugabo. He was remanded until October 2 when he is expected to take plea before the trial chief magistrate, Frank Negel Othembi. Mugabo told the accused that he could not take plea from him because he did not have jurisdiction. Mudoko was reportedly intercepted at the Baganda bus park in Kampala carrying 890 bullets in a five-litre jerrycan. He was arrested after he alighted from a Swift Coach bus which had just arrived from from Mbarara. The Prosecution alleged that Mudoko on September 12 at the Baganda bus park in Kampala, engaged in acts of terrorism when he was found with 890 bullets without lawful excuse. Ends
