Chance Nalubega, the leader and founder of the Gomiba band, Ronald Mayinja, Geofrey Lutaaya, Michach Semakula, Jackline Nabadda and Sempebwa Kyazike all of Eagles Production Band are being held at Jinja Road Police Station. But the Jinja Road Police CID boss, Disson Onyingi, said there were only three of the musicians in custody. He referred The New Vision to the immigration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. But the legal officer at the immigration department, Fred Osore, said the five will be presented in court on Monday to answer charges of uttering false documents and impersonation. Osore said, “The offence is becoming rampant and needs a deterrent sentence.” According to the Passports Act, the offenders face either two years imprisonment or a fine of sh2,000,000. The passports they tried to use belonged to members of Theatrical Doves, a group still in the UK. Ends
