KAMPALA – A man and his wife were yesterday sentenced to imprisonment in Luzira for neglecting their two-and-a-half-year-old child. John Kawuki and Rose Bukirwa, Nanyonjo’s step-mother, are residents of Kisozi Budo in Wakiso district. Duncan Gaswaga, the Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate, said prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt. He sentenced Kawuki to two-and-a-half years and Bukirwa to two years imprisonment. Their arrest followed complaints from their neighbours that the couple was not providing for the girl.
