LONDON — A 50-year-old British bomber was running elite spying missions into Afghanistan as the allied anti-terrorism coalition began an intensive hunt for Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda colleagues, defence ministry officials said Wednesday. The Royal Air Force’s Canberra PR9, which has been in service since 1951, ran missions on Tuesday and Wednesday, a ministry spokesman told AFP.
