Wakou lands France invitation

By Norman Katende THREE Ugandan athletes have landed an opportunity to train in France and Spain. The athletes are Paul Wakou, Julius Ogwang and Martin Toroitich. The three will be expected to also participate in different international cross-country and 10,000m competitions in Barcelona, Spain and Paris, France. The races are to start October 21. Patrick Okanya, Uganda Amateur Athletics Federations UAAF general secretary, said that the trip has been made possible by David Kikelio, a Kenyan promoter, based in Europe who has been studying Ugandan athletes for quite sometime. The promoter is to cover travel expenses, including air tickets, to France and Spain while UAAF is to meet the costs for the visas. ends
