By Grace Matsiko KYADDONDO South MP, Issa Kikungwe, has said the Terrorism Bill is intended to witch hunt opposition politicians and vowed to fight it. Kikungwe was at a press conference held by the Democratic Party, president, Dr. Paul Ssemogerere on Thursday, at the party headquarters, in Kampala. He said the bill is intended to stifle the opposition rather than curb terrorism. “The terrorism law is nothing but witch hunting the opposition. As MPs, we are going to fight it,” Kikungwe said. “The punishment is too harsh. Life imprisonment for any person that is trying to fight for his or her political, economic, cultural power. Such a person is regarded a terrorist,” he added. Kikungwe said the Movement is trying to buy members of the opposition as it allegedly did with Sarah Nkonge Muwonge who last week deserted DP. Kampala mayor Sebaana Kizito, DP Secretary General, Damiano Lubega, MP Michael Mabikke (Makindye East) attended the press conference.
