KAMPALA — The Media Council is investigating the identities and whereabouts of the proprietors of a Kampala weekly newspaper, The Message.

KAMPALA — The Media Council is investigating the identities and whereabouts of the proprietors of a Kampala weekly newspaper, The Message. The newspaper, formerly located on Ivory Plaza, Plot 4 Wilson Road, ceased publication weeks ago, following legal action against it by the Uganda YMCA. The Message had published a story alleging that YMCA was in a gross financial scandal. Through their lawyers, Kawanga and Kasule Advocates, the YMCA secretary general, Robert Jjumba, said the article published in the Friday August 17 issue, was false, malicious and greatly defamatory.
