A group of boys in Dungu zone on October 7 in Kisaasi fought over a crate of soda which was given to them by Mrs. Nabagala, a candidate for an LC office in the area. According to eyewitnesses, Nabagala came and talked to them earlier in the day. At the end of what she called a consultative meeting, she promised them a crate of soda. “The crate was brought later in the evening. As soon as it arrived, the youths jumped like cats and scrambled for the sodas,” an eyewitness narrated. The fight was so tough that some of them never got anything, while some took three or four. Some of those who got nothing were seen crying. The woman, who were supposed to take half a crate did not get any of it. “I am not going to give her my vote, I have not taken the soda,” one person said. ends
