By Vision Reporter In Ndejje village in Makindye Sabagabo sub-county, Wakiso, the voting exercise aborted due to a muddled register. Residents say officials who compiled the village register moved from house to house taking particulars of all the eligible voters but many residents were surprised to find their names missing from the register. “Whoever made the register just wrote the names down as they moved. They were not written in alphabetical order, which even made it more difficult to trace them. As much as 15 minutes would be spent checking for just one name. People got irritated when by 4:30pm voting had not yet started," said the chairman, Eriya Mata. Voters were irked by the confusing register and rivalry between the two factions supporting Mata and his rival Kulabako Mutebi. By the time the Wakiso Assistant CAO, Marion Tukahurirwa, ruled that the voting exercise would not continue as there was limited time to the declaration of the winner, four people had voted. ends
