GEORGE Ocen, the Kitgum town clerk, who was interdicted two years ago, has resumed work.

By Odwong Wod Ayo GEORGE Ocen, the Kitgum town clerk, who was interdicted two years ago, has resumed work. The Kitgum chief administrative officer, Alfred Ocen Lalur, made the announcement last week during a press briefing about the situation of the district's employees. Lalur said in 1999, the LC3 executive led by the chairman, Alex Odongtoo, alleged that the town clerk had misappropriated council funds. Ocen was arrested and charged but the court found that the allegations were not true and he was set free. However, the LC3 executive appealed to have Ocen removed. Lalur said his office and that of the resident district commissioner worked hard to reconcile the two parties and on November 6, the LC3 executive and Ocen agreed to forgive each other unconditionally.
