By Richard Mutumba A ROW has erupted between Kapchorwa MPs and a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Godparents Association (GA) over school fees for Sabiny girls. Kween County MP Dr. Yeko Arapkissa attributed the problem to lack of transparency in choosing beneficiaries of financial assistance from GA among other reasons. However, the GA country co-ordinator, Erinah Rutangye, said Kapchorwa politicians were using her NGO to fight their political wars. “These politicians must know that not a lot of money is involved in this programme. Donors pass money directly to the beneficiaries and it’s usually school fees,” Rutangye said. GA supports the education of needy girls from Kapchorwa who reject female genital mutilation.
