Weather experts predict a continuation of the current hot and dry weather conditions in most parts of the country. Vendors of soft drinks, chilled water and fruits are already making roaring profits as thirsty city dwellers scramble for the items to tame their thirst. The dust hangs over the busy sections of Kampala as shoppers in search of Christmas wares scrape the dust off the sidewalks into the air. “Currently most parts of the northern, eastern, central and lake basin regions are hot and dry leading to uncomfortable dusty conditions,” says the experts’ report. Hopes for a let-up in the onslaught of the heat waves from the heavens are dimmed by the prediction released by senior scientists in the Department of Meteorology. The likely physical conditions for most places during the coming week indicate that there will be a lot of sweating as the packed prayer houses pay their annual respects to the Lord’s birthday. Experts said most parts of the country receive normal to above seasonal rains but with wide variations in the distribution which started in September. Ends
