'Beans can replace fees'

MBARARA - Mbarara College has started allowing students to pay school fees in kind. The school director, Vom Mugime, said, "If a student has no money but has beans, maize, matooke, bricks or sand, he or she is free to pay that as school dues and study." Mugume on Sunday said, "We want even sons of poor peasants to attain education as a quick way of alleviating poverty in Uganda. Ends.
