By Dismus Buregyeya Democratic Party members in Masaka, Rakai and Sembabule districts have resolved to boycott the meeting organised by the party Secretary General, Mariano Drametu, because "they smell a rotten rat" behind the move. "We are highly suspicious of the seriousness of the meeting where people will be allowed to buy party cards at the gate," they said. The press release was issued yesterday after a meeting held in Masaka town and attended by the DP chairman from Sembabule, Rapheal Kabora and Rakai's John Kalyango. It was hosted by the Masaka DP chairman, Deus Mugambe. The release said the chairmen agreed not to attend the Namboole DP National Council meeting slated for today because it contravenes the party constitution. The statement added that it was not the duty of the National Council to elect office bearers. They said they suspected the source of funds for the meeting was not genuine as party treasurer Ssebaana Kizito, had no hand in the funding. Ends.
