By Douglas Mazune CHIPPER Adams in a Mitsubishi Evo5 yesterday clocked the fastest time of five minutes 35.93 seconds to win the Royal Millennium sprint at Kaazi. Chipper navigated by Justin Beyendeza beat second placed Moses Lumala by five seconds in the event organised to raise funds for Prince Edward Kimbugwe to buy a new rally car. "It was competitive, Moses (Lumala) and Charlie Lubega were close, we enjoyed the race. We made our fastest time in the first run and we could not do better in the rest of the runs," Chipper said. The winner was determined from the best single run of the four-run sprint that saw Lumala and Lubega suffer aborted runs due to punctures. Angenoir Discotheque sponsored Lubega in a Mitsubishi Evolution4 followed Chipper for the better part of the sprint but Lumala beat him to the second spot by the thickness of a razor blade (less than a second), in the last run. Lubega, Ponsiano Lwakataka and Wycliff Bukenya finished third, fourth and fifth respectively. Full results: 1. Chipper Adams 5:35.46 2. Moses Lumala 5:39.46 3. Charlie Lubega 5:40.63 4. Ponsiano Lakataka 6:08.85 5. Wycliff Bikeway 6:15.22 6. Adam Musisi 6:47.58 7. Issa Numba 6:51.06 8. Joseph Mulema 7:07.68. Ends.
