Suspect dies in Mbarara

A suspected Ebola patient has died at the Mbarara University teaching hospital where she had been admitted on Thursday. James Mujuni reports that the secretary of the Mbarara Ebola task force, Dr. Amooti Kaguna, identified the dead woman as Babishekyeramu, a resident of Biharwe, near Mbarara town. Kaguna said Babishekyeramu was admitted on Thursday with symptoms similar to Ebola. "We immediately put her into isolation but her condition did not improve till she passed way on Friday morning," Kaguna said. Blood samples were taken from the patient and sent to Gulu for tests. If the tests prove positive, Babishekyeramu will be the fifth person to die of Ebola in Mbarara since the disease broke out on October 28. Ends.
