Pharmacies in contract battle

KAMPALA Pharmaceutical Industries (1996) Ltd. have sued J.R Pharmacy (U) Ltd. for breach of contract and unpaid fees amounting to sh3m.

By Tina Turyagyenda KAMPALA Pharmaceutical Industries (1996) Ltd. have sued J.R Pharmacy (U) Ltd. for breach of contract and unpaid fees amounting to sh3m. In a civil suit filed in the Mengo Chief Magistrates' Court, the plaintiff through their lawyers Mukwatanise and Co. Advocates, are also demanding for interest on the unpaid amount at a rate of 20% per annum and costs of the suit. The plaintiffs claim that on February 28 2000, they supplied to J.R Pharmacy at the latter's verbal request, products worth sh 5,720, 300 on credit. Photocopies of the invoice, which was duly recognised by the defendant, are attached to the suit. The defendants on December 14 pledged to pay by December 15 but failed to honour the pledge. Ends.
