Malaba men run away from woman By Paul Okaramedo BUSINESS in the border town of Malaba, recently came to a standstill after a woman, alighted from a taxi and started vomiting. This happened near The New Vision kiosk. Many clearing offices, shops and kiosks closed their premises after money changers ran away shouting "ebola!" The woman, who remained lying down for over 20 minutes, was only rescued by a courageous man who went to her and asked what was wrong. She told him the fuel fumes from the taxi had nauseated her which led to her vomiting. She also said she had travelled in the cold from Bugwe in Buwaya sub-county. She developed a fever while in the taxi. She was travelling to Koitangiro village near Malaba to see her daughter whom she said was reportedly sick. Seeing the kindness of the unidentified man, the money changers, who had now returned, raised sh4,000 for her to go to hospital for treatment. "You don't have to wait on hearing news of ebola,"said Epiku a newspaper vendor who had closed his kiosk. Business resumed after an hour. Ends.
