Being President of Uganda is not the only job

EDITOR: I wish to comment on the just concluded presidential elections. There is no doubt Uganda's democracy is maturing, going by African standards today.

However, I am greatly disappointed by the presidential losers like Olara Otunnu, Kizza Besigye and Samuel Lubega and Norbert Mao! Otunnu did not even vote for himself and his party! The others gave unconvincing excuses to explain their loss.

In a contest, there must be a a winner and a loser. My advice to Ugandans is that they should know that being President of Uganda is not the only job one can have in the country.

There are many other ways citizens can make Uganda better than planning to incite the population into destructive behaviour of violence. When this disruption messes up our country, how long will it take these aspirants to build it up again? Ugandans should shun such attitudes.

They need God's grace to heal the bitterness in their hearts. They should not be so bitter as if Uganda is their personal property. We all found Uganda here and we shall leave it here.

Only God knows the destiny of this nation.
