Banks should have general bank slips

EDITOR: I know a parent in Kampala who has a son studying in Masaka. At the beginning of the term, both walked into a banking hall in Kampala to pay school fees. A teller told them that they had made errors on the bank slip and they had to get a blank one from the school.

The parent asked the teller if they could not use the general deposit slips but the teller refused. The parent had to go to Masaka, pick a slip and then pay to the bank. What a waste of valuable time! Who is responsible?

Can't banking institutions in Uganda develop general bank slips for school fees payment? These slips should bear the name of the student, school and account number.

What a parent would need to keep is possibly the account number of the school. Is it too costly for banks to do this?
