THE East and Central Africa regional football governing body CECAFA is wooing Uganda to host this year’s Club Championship after Zanzibar soccer body ZFA failed to meet conditions to stage the tournament sponsored by Rwanda President Paul Kagame.

CECAFA stripped ZFA of the hosting rights following prolonged conflict in the Zanzibari football leadership.

CECAFA said ZFA had failed to improve their playing grounds.

Uganda football governing body FUFA chief executive Edgar Watson confirmed the development but could not confirm the possibility of the action returning to Kampala.
