VICTOR Egessa lifted St. Augustine College to their maiden secondary schools scrabble championship title in the action that climaxed on Sunday at Mengo SS.

Egessa beat fellow schoolmate Alice Okullu 301-269 in the final to emerge overall male winner. He won all his six games of the day.

“It has been a new experience and challenging because it was my first time to take part in such a competition” said Egessa, a Senior Five science student.

Joshua Nyenge from the same school also beat Arnold Walusimbi from Makerere College to finish second as Okullu, who also won the individual girl’s title, came third overall.

Makerere College finished in second place with 6.3 points and Turkish Light Academy third.
