JR Construction Company has won a sh600m tender to repair two roads in Entebbe Municipality.

The firm will work on Circular Road, which helps to decongest the Airport Road, and Hill Road.

Joseph Kimbowa, the Entebbe Municipality town clerk, said most of the roads are in a sorry state, requiring major repairs.

He said they would start with areas where there are major developments. “This financial year we will tarmac over two kilometres on both Hill and Circular roads. This is where there are many developments and tourism facilities.”

Benson Turyatunga, the JR Construction project supervisor, said work had already started and would be completed in September.

“We will tarmac Hill Road, while on Circular Road; we will work on the shoulders on certain sections and tarmac the road.

Besides tarmac, trenches and culverts are either being replaced for some sections, while in some areas new ones are being put.
