‘IT was a good result. I am very happy’ That is how Bunamwaya coach Edward Goloola summed up his team’s 1-1 draw with El Mereikh in the CECAFA Kagame Cup yesterday.

The draw created a rocky route for the Sudanese giants who struggled to break down Bunamwaya in Dar es Salaam.

Robert Kimuli headed the goal that gave the Ugandan champions a crucial point in the regional event. Sergi Pascal Wawa rescued the Sudanese, who drew with Young Africans in the opening match on Monday.

The result leaves Bunamwaya on top of group B with four points following their 4-0 route over Elman of Somalia on Monday.

Young Africans led by Ugandan coach Sam Ntimbe are in second place with an inferior goal difference after beating Elman of Somalia 2-0 in the other group B tie.

Ugandan striker Hamis Kiiza scored Yanga’s second.

About his side’s prospects against Young African on Saturday, Goloola said.

“All I need now is a victory. I want to win that match.”
