Toro Kingdom mourns Gadaffi

THE people of Toro are mourning the death of the former Libya president  Col. Muammar Gaddafi. The Toro kingdom Prime Minister Dr Apollo Karugaba said that it was sad for the kingdom's hero to die.  

Gaddafi has been a darling of Toro kingdom and is well remembered for having rehabilitated the Kingdom’s palace, constructed the main mosque in Fort Portal town and paid school fees for Princess Ruth Komuntale, King Oyo’s sister among other developments in the kingdom.

Prof Edward Rugumayo an elder in the area said that it was sad but was quick to add that Gadaffi would have left the leadership of Libya early instead of waiting to die in shameful way.

“It is bad that he had died like this but if he had left early, may he would have died this way. May his soul rest in peace,” Rugumayo said.

However the Toro kingdom information minister Arthur Namara sympathized with family of Gaddafi and the Africa nations for losing a hero.

Namara said that his death will affect future development in the kingdom adding they are consulting each other to see how they can mourn him in a special way.

“We are consulting each other to see how best we can mourn our hero. We are most likely to hold special prayers to show our grievances to the fallen revolutionist,” Namara said.

Amis Juma a resident of Fort Portal said that he was devastated by the news of his death. “It has touched me as an individual because Gaddafi had done lot of for the people of Africa and indeed we have a lost a great man,” Juma said.

The Toro district Khadi sheik Habib Mande said that God has done his will. “Allah has done his will. We have lost good hearted man who cared for all people regardless of their religions. He loved development and he had great ides of developing Islamic and Africa at large,” Mande said.
