A rally organized by activists for change meant to show solidarity with the people of Libya, Tunisia and Egypt for ousting their leaders flopped on Friday.

This after Police warned the organizers to shift the rally to another venue outside the central Kampala business district.

Police heavily deployed ahead of the anticipated opposition rally.

The coordinator for activists for change, Matthias Mpuuga, said they had changed the date but insists on holding the rally.

Police chief Kale Kayihura on Thursday declared the rally illegal arguing that it would disrupt business in the city and advised the organizers to get an alternative venue.
