At the mention of adoption, one of the first thoughts to come to many a Ugandan’s mind is that it is only for White couples. The second thought is that it is a last resort for couples who have failed to get children of their own.
At the mention of adoption, one of the first thoughts to come to many a Ugandan’s mind is that it is only for White couples. The second thought is that it is a last resort for couples who have failed to get children of their own.
Today, there’s a new generation of Ugandans who are going against these myths and adopting children as well. In our lead story, we profile George and Desire Barugahare, a married Christian couple who, in addition to their two biological children, have adopted two others. Find out what inspired them to adopt other children, their joys, challenges and their dreams for their children.
