Kisoro soldier held over murder
The Police in Kisoro district have arrested a UPDF soldier over murder. Clement Ndayisaba is accused of murdering Benon Sendume. Both are residents of Kamonyi village in Kisoro town council. Kisoro officer in charge on criminal investigations Fred Rumura said it all started when the two quarrelled in a bar on Thursday. Ndayisaba later invited Sendume to his house so that they could reconcile. On reaching the house, Ndayisaba boxed Sendume and stabbed him six times, killing him instantly. Rumura said Ndayisaba was being held at Kisoro Central Police Station. Sendume was buried at his home in Kamonyi village, Kisoro town.

Storm destroys Mbarara villages
The chairman of Bucuro sub-county in Mbarara district, David Kitengye, has appealed for immediate relief for residents whose crops and property were damaged by a hailstorm last Monday. Kitengye said most of the affected people had acquired loans from banks to improve their banana plantations. He said most of them would not be able to pay back the money since the destroyed crops were their only source of income. He said the affected villages included Kakondo I, Kakondo II, Bucuro cell, Mirambi and Rwamuganga.
