UGANDA Breweries under its Bell Lager brand yesterday handed over a sh295m sponsorship cheque to the Uganda Super League.

The money is part of the sh2.5b three-year deal where UBL will give the clubs an annual cash contribution of sh295m. According to a UBL release, the rest of the money will cater for kit provision and media support.

“We have incredible talent in this country that can only be nurtured through great support and commitment from all the stakeholders”, said marketing manager Innocent Tibayeita.

Bell’s offer came shortly after a sh13bn offer to the league from international broadcasters SuperSport. USL’s chairman Kavuma Kabenge and Fred Muwema represented the clubs.

On Tuesday, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago attended KCC FC’s 4-1 win over Utoda.
