So, I beseeched my constituents to take care of my wife and children, in case I departed from the public prematurely," he said.

The presidential press secretary, Tamale Mirundi, believes he is so independent-minded that only President Museveni can tolerate him. Speaking on a televised political talk-show on Wednesday, Mirundi said he is in Government because Museveni loves him. This is why the day Museveni leaves power, he too will stop working for Government. “I have opponents even in the Government I serve, just because I am independent-minded. Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga of Kampala is perturbed by the mess-up in Kampala. Addressing Christians at Rubaga Cathedral recently, Lwanga said Kampala was so disorganised that a stranger could hardly believe it is the capital city of our country. “Our city is in a mess because our leaders are just bickering instead of working in harmony. It is my prayer that our leaders forget their differences and work to restore the grace of our beloved city,†he said.
Museveni's warning
President Yoweri Museveni still has that quality of using humour to deliver political messages. During his meeting with local leaders from Gomba at his farm in Kisozi recently, Museveni said he would stop extending financial assistance to the residents if they continued abusing his generosity. “If you don’t use the money I give you productively, I will stop being generous. In fact I will just wave to you if I find you waiting for me along the road,†he told them. They burst out laughing.
