It was a walk in the park for the Uganda telecom Kobs who claimed an easy victory against G4S Pirates in the Nile Special Rugby Uganda Cup final on Saturday at Dam Waters ground in Jinja.

The highly billed game that saw club fans and officials demand for a foreign referee prompting the Union to fly in a Kenyan referee -Constant Caps didn’t live to its expectation as Pirates turned into easy prey to the gigantic and charged Kobs.

Man of the match Allan Musoke gave Kobs a 5-0 lead with a try in the 13th minute after he picked a ball outside the 22yard that was left to bounce by Pirates’ fullback Johnson Mukunzi.

Scrumhalf Kevin Makmot stretched the lead to 8-0 through a penalty before Musoke registered another try and a conversion by Makmot to end halftime 15-0.

Denis Etucket gave Pirates little hope on return from break a try 15-5 but the perfect foot of Makmot added three penalties to stretch Kobs lead to 24-5 before Lawrence Wakabi sealed the score with a try to 29-5 handing Kobs their second Uganda Cup title in a row and sh2.5m cash prize.
