The land title fight between Ronald Mayinja and Joy Nagawa, also known as Jojo K, was a stunt to promote Mayinja’s concert, which happened at the Serena Hotel on March 9, 2024.

Before the concert, Joy Nagawa held media interviews narrating how she met and fell in love with Ronald Mayinja under the singing group he had created known as “Golden Kapyata.”.

Having dated for close to one and a half years, trouble ensued when Ronald Mayinja learnt that Joy Nagawa was about to be introduced by someone else.

He allegedly left the United Kingdom, and upon his return to Kampala, he started to demand the land title located in Bulindo, Nsasa, that he had gifted Nagawa.

Nagawa claimed that in his pursuit to get the land title, Mayinja sent her threats, but she stood her ground and maintained that she was not ready to hand over the title as he had a bank debt to settle, which was worth sh78m.

Ronald Mayinja clarified in a phone call interview that he has never been in love with the said lady, and their spat was a stunt.  “We have nothing in common,” he said.

He vehemently denied any affair. “It was a stunt to divert the political threats and protect my concert. I am happily married to my wife Aisha, and I cannot cheat on her whatsoever,” he said.

In an interview, Joy Nagawa was adamant that whatever she said was true.

“Mayinja is lying; I have never been in any concert games with him; everything I raised and complained about Ronald was true, it's true that I attended his concert because I am his fan," she said.

Mayinja, in response, said Nagawa is looking for relevance. “What do you expect her to tell you? She could not tell the truth because her talk was in the past. I am looking forward to developing Golden Band," Mayinja said.
