Law enforcement authorities have made significant strides in two separate cases of domestic violence, with one suspect apprehended and another being actively pursued by the Police.

Simon Ogwase, hailing from Katakwi district, is currently in Police custody following allegations that he intercepted and murdered a woman while she was on her way home from a bar.

According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the victim's alleged infidelity is believed to be the motive behind the brutal crime.

Mayuge case

Meanwhile, in Mayuge district, authorities are on the hunt for Alex Kigundu, also known as Mobutu, in connection with the gruesome dismemberment of his wife.

Reports indicate that Kigundu held his wife captive in their bedroom, where he proceeded to attack her with a panga despite the pleas of their young children who were confined to another room.

Following the brutal assault, Kigundu fled the scene, abandoning the weapon.

“As investigations into both cases continue, authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Alex Kigundu to come forward,” Enanga said.

Enanga made the remarks on Monday, April 21, 2024, while addressing journalists at the Police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.

He was providing updates linked to insecurity and crackdowns by Police and sister security agencies.
