President Museveni heads to Bunyoro on PDM assessment tour

President Yoweri Museveni will visit the Bunyoro Sub-Region on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, as part of his ongoing assessment of the Parish Development Model (PDM) implementation.
During the visit, Museveni is expected to meet selected PDM beneficiaries, model farmers, and local leaders.
The President, according to State House, will also engage with the media and address a public rally.
The tour is part of the government’s broader effort to lift households out of the subsistence economy.
PDM, launched in 2022 to drive socio-economic transformation, aims to transition 39% of Uganda's households from subsistence to a cash economy by providing financial support to beneficiaries while ensuring accountability at the grassroots level.
Through the PDM, the government aims to transition 3.5 million such households into the money economy.
President Museveni launched his PDM assessment tours in December 2024, covering Karamoja and Elgon sub-regions among others.
