Kwania District Woman Member of Parliament, Kenny Auma has retained her seat after garnering 37,685 votes, beating two other contenders.
Auma is the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party candidate.
National Resistance Movement (NRM) party’s Susan Apiyo Atekilwak came second in the race with 21,847 votes, while Etit Kaee Okoa (FDC) trailed with 783 votes.
In Kwan North County, James Ongu (NRM) beat the incumbent Bob Okae.
Ongu garnered 16,663 votes while, Okae garnered 14,626 votes.
Meanwhile, Evelyn Elem Awor (Independent) got 1,221 votes and Allan Charles Odongo (NUP) trailed with 173 votes.
In Kwania County, NRM’s Tony Eron won the race with 11,429 votes, beating the incumbent, Tony Ayoo (Independent) who got 6,128 votes.
Harriet Havey Ajalo (UPC) garnered 9,991 votes, while Erick Okek (Independent) trailed with 230 votes.
Meanwhile, all the incumbent Members of Parliament from Gulu District have been voted out.
In the Gulu District Woman Member of Parliament race, Sharon Laker Balmoi lost to Phoebe Ayoo Obol, who bagged 2,448 to 13,111 votes.
Ayoo is the current speaker of Gulu District Council .
In the third place is Nancy Atimango (Independent) got 2,448 votes, followed by Filder Anyadwer Onek (Independent) with 267 votes, Irene Lallam (NUP) with 196 votes, and Maureen Jones Atim (UPC) with 150 votes.
Meanwhile, in Aswa County Member of Parliament race, Patrick Okello Onguti (DP) beat incumbent Simon Peter Wokorach, 13,889 to 9,781 votes.
Other candidates include Johnson Olwar Agara (Independent) with 707 votes, James Oringa (FDC) with 202 votes, and Walter Okot (NUP) with 174 votes.
Christine Lanyero Awany, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party candidate has been declared the winner of the Nwoya District Woman Member of Parliament seat after garnering 12,715 votes.
Lanyero beat the incumbent, Judith Peace Acan (Independent) who got 6,866 and Rosemary Laker (Democratic Party) who got 3,236.
Others are Cinderella Joy Acellam Apili (Uganda People’s Congress) with 767 votes, Vicky Tina Laker (Independent) with 469 votes and Jennifer Atim Ogaba (Democratic Front) with 294.
In Nwoya County Member of Parliament race, the incumbent, Tony Awany of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party lost to the Democratic Party’s Dennis Geoffrey Opiyo with 5,022 against 5,044 votes.
Opiyo is the incumbent Councilor V for Anaka Sub –County.
Meanwhile, the incumbent Nwoya District Chairman Emmanuel Orach came third in the race with 2,029 votes followed by Ocitti Onyai (UPC) with 372 votes, Kennedy Okello (DF) with 259 votes, Samuel Opiyo (FDC) with 174 votes, and Alfred Okello Otti (PFF) with 84 votes.
In Nwoya East County Member of Parliament race, Democratic Party’s Geoffrey Charles Okello commonly known as Komlok retained his seat with 4,249 votes, beating National Resistance Movement party’s Lilly Adong with 3,624 votes, Patrick Akena Candano (Independent) with 3,057 votes, Nelson Oyet Ojok (Independent) with 121 votes, Moses Chankara Mwaka (FDC) with 96 votes and Brian Rwotomiya (PFF) with 52 votes.
Votes from two polling stations: Lanyang Junction and Cuk pa Opuk, all in Alero Sub –County were cancelled after the number of people who cast their votes exceed the number of registered voters.
Lanyang Junction has 560 registered voters but 781 cast their votes while Cuk pa Opuk with 243 registered voters had 507 votes.
