In Bukedea District, the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) David Becham Okweere has been duly announced the winner for the seat of directly elected Member of Parliament, unseating the incumbent Bosco Ikojo in the hotly contested parliamentary seat.
While announcing the final results this Friday morning 16, January 2026, Joel Mugenyi, the district returning officer Bukedea, declared Okweere after scoring 68,103 votes, giving him a percentage of 83.64 percent of the votes.
His nearest challenger Bosco Ikojo, the Incumbent, polled 10,458 votes, Rose Akol Okulu pooled 2,150 votes, John Micheal Odeke scored 402 votes, while Silas Opejo got 308 votes.
In Kachumbala County, Patrick Opolot Isiagi also bounces back unopposed. Bukedea district had 300 polling stations, with 9,9080 registered voters.
In the Woman MP's race, Anita Annet Among has reclaimed her seat after she became unopposed for Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament.
Speaking to Etop radio after his victory announcement, Becham attributed his win to teamwork and patience.
Etop Radio also spoke to some of the excited supporters of Okweere, who expressed gratitude upon their candidate's victory.
