President Yoweri Museveni has taken his vote hunt to the districts of Mbale and Bukwo as he seeks another five-year mandate in the 2026 general election.
The rally in Mbale City today (November 10, 2025) wraps up his campaign tour of Bugisu region.
He will later in the afternoon head to Bukwo to mark the start of his vote-hunting trail across the Sebei region.
In the last general election, Museveni garnered 37,106 (54.01%) votes in Mbale while his main rival, Robert Kyagulanyi of the National Unity Platform party got 28,935 (42.12%).
In Bukwo, Museveni polled 27,888 (87.37%) votes and Kyagulanyi got 3,032 (9.50%).
Museveni is campaigning for a seventh term in office under the theme: Protecting the Gains, Making a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.
The theme focuses on safeguarding achievements in the last 39 years, such as peace and development, while aiming to propel Uganda to a high middle-income status.
Other gains he and his National Resistance Movement party seek to protect are: wealth creation initiatives, jobs, service delivery, markets, as well as unity and political stability.
