Cabinet Minister Hillary Onek Obaloker, who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Lamwo District-based Palabek County has retained his seat after polling 6,496 votes.
Disaster preparedness state minister Onek, who has been the ruling National Resistance Movement party flag-bearer, trounced Geoffrey Odongkara Obalim (Independent) with 4,340 votes.
Other candidates in the race were Felix Ocen (independent) with 273 votes, Richard Nyeko (independent) with 134 votes and Robert Ocaya (independent) with 102 votes.
Lamwo County
In Lamwo County, Johnson Nyeko Kizikia (NRM) won the MP race with 21,206 votes, beating six other candidates.
Grace Regina Akullu (Independent) came second with 5,446 votes, followed by Agnes Aloyotoo of the JEEMA party with 476 votes, George Anywar (DP) with 390 votes, Joseph Kanto (NUP) with 202 votes, Joel Okongo (NPP) with 177 votes and John Bosco Onekalit (Independent) with 101 votes.
Meanwhile, Nancy Achora Odonga (NRM) retained her seat as Lamwo District Woman MP with 27,681 votes, beating her only contender, Molly Lanyero who got 11,706 votes.
