Campaigning in Kassanda District, President Yoweri Museveni cautioned residents against repeating past electoral mistakes by voting for opposition leaders who make promises but fail to deliver. He thanked the people of Kassanda for turning up in large numbers despite the heavy rain.

The President reiterated the NRM’s commitment to social service delivery, emphasising that every parish must have a primary school and every sub-county a secondary school. Kassanda currently has 100 primary schools and 13 secondary schools, with plans underway to close the remaining gaps. He also noted that only two sub-counties still lack health facilities, a challenge the government has pledged to address.

At his second rally in Mityana, President Museveni reminded supporters that the NRM’s development efforts in the area date back decades, beginning with opening up road networks to link production areas to markets and essential services. He recalled a barter partnership with Yugoslav investors, where agricultural produce was exchanged for the construction of the Mityana–Mubende road. As the economy grew stronger, the road network was extended through Fort Portal up to the Congo border.
The President further pledged to work on the Kakono–Manyi–Mubende–Sekanyonyi–Busunjju road and to continue expanding access to clean water. He expressed satisfaction that safe water coverage in the area now stands at 86 percent.

Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential candidate, Maj Gen (rtd) Gregory Mugisha Muntu, has urged voters in Rukungiri District to “protect their gains” by supporting a peaceful transition of power.
Addressing both ANT and NRM supporters, Muntu warned that violent political change could destroy the progress Ugandans have worked hard to achieve over the past 40 years under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He argued that while some regions believe Western Uganda has benefited under the current government, there are individuals the regime has allegedly positioned as scapegoats in the event of political upheaval.
“Violence would undo the very gains citizens have struggled to build,” he cautioned.
